Privacy policy
This policy describes the current data handling of the deployed WKB Teleprompter service.
Data the service stores
- account data such as login, role, password hash, and account creation timestamp
- teleprompter scripts uploaded or created by users
- runtime state such as active file, playback progress, speed, and font size
- session identifiers used to keep users signed in
- operational logs and backup snapshots needed to run and recover the service
Why this data is used
- to authenticate users and protect account access
- to store user scripts and playback settings
- to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the service
- to restore service data after operational failures when backups are used
Android app permissions
- The Android app may request camera access to scan a pairing QR code when connecting a follower device to a host device. Camera frames are used only for QR scanning on the device and are not stored or uploaded by WKB Teleprompter.
- The Android app may use local network access to discover and connect trusted host/follower devices for prompting sync.
- If Google Play Billing is used, purchase and subscription processing is handled by Google Play.
Sharing and third parties
The application is self-hosted. Data is not sold. It may be processed by the operator of this deployment and by the hosting providers or infrastructure services required to run the server.
The Android app and signed-in teleprompter application do not include advertising SDKs.
The public marketing website may use Google Analytics to measure website visits, pages viewed, approximate location, device/browser information, and referral sources. This analytics data is used to understand site traffic and improve public product information.
Retention and deletion
Live account data is retained while the account remains active. Users can delete their account from inside the app. Deleting an account removes live account data, active sessions, user scripts, and saved runtime state for that user.
If the operator maintains backups, deleted live data may continue to exist in restricted backup snapshots until the normal backup rotation expires.
